Product introduction! T-DRILL has released the OCC product line for the automatic orbital cutting and chamfering of tubes. With a large cutting capacity and production rates of up to 300 pcs/h, the product line utilizes the efficient orbital cutting method, also known as the rotary cut-off method. The continuously evolving product line is designed to meet the needs of industries such as the data center construction, HVACR, shipbuilding and water treatment industries.
The newly released T-DRILL OCC (Orbicut & Chamfering) product line is designed for the orbital cutting and chamfering of tubes across a wide range of diameters and wall thicknesses. The tubes are cut in a lathe-style operation without sawing, producing only a single continuous chip and a weld-ready cut surface. A key benefit of the OCC technology is its ability to chamfer both inner and outer tube edges in a single work cycle, enabling faster and more efficient tube preparation.
A Weld-Ready Cut Surface & Chip Management Technology
The OCC-115 utilizes the fast and efficient orbital cutting, or rotary cut-off, method, in which the tube remains stationary while rotating cutting tools perform the cut. As a result, the risk of damage caused by spinning bent or irregular material is eliminated. Thanks to the way T-DRILL tools grip the tube and the method’s even distribution of cutting forces, tube geometry is preserved and I.D. reduction is minimized, contributing to consistent product quality. T-DRILL OCC cutting machines produce a high-quality, weld-ready cut surface that is ready for further processing.
One of the key advantages of the T-DRILL orbital cutting method is its effective chip management technology. Unlike conventional cutting methods that produce numerous small chips, the T-DRILL method generates a single continuous chip that is easy to handle. This results in a cleaner working environment, simplified chip management, and a lower risk of chips entering the tube, where they could compromise product quality or affect performance in the final application.
Chamfering On Both the Inner and Outer Tube Edges at Both Ends in a Single Work Cycle
After the tube is cut, a second tool performs the chamfering operation. T-DRILL’s advanced chamfering tool can chamfer both the inner and outer tube edges at both ends of the tube in a single work cycle, significantly improving efficiency and reducing processing time. Chamfering prepares the tube for subsequent manufacturing stages. The T-DRILL OCC machines can be integrated with other T-DRILL machines and processes, such as collaring, flanging, and internal welding, resulting in significantly shorter production times.
T-DRILL OCC machines are equipped with modern, user-friendly interfaces that make operation quicker and easier, improving usability and reducing the risk of operator error. Designed and manufactured in Finland, the OCC product line, like all T-DRILL machines, is built for durability and a long operational life.
Growing Product Family for Tube Processing
Currently, the OCC family includes the OCC-115 model, which handles tube outside diameters from 6 to 114,3 mm. The range is larger than ever before, and the product line continues to evolve.
The large cutting capacity serves manufacturers of data center cooling tubes, process piping systems, and tubes for industries such as shipbuilding and HVACR, among many others.
