Our Customer in Italy, MONTEC Srl, of MONDEO Group, has great advantages with T-DRILL equipment.
MONTEC Srl, a subsidiary of the MONDEO Group, specializes in manufacturing and distributing stainless-steel pipe manifolds for heating plants and water distribution. The company started in 1986 with a limited production of water valves and later (1996) tubular headers in Stainless Steel for pumping stations, etc. Then it developed itself until the actual condition, exporting innovation worldwide with both standard and customized single-sides, or double-sided manifolds with one or two connections.
In 2017, MONTEC initiated its collaboration with T-DRILL by purchasing a double-head S-54 machine equipped with an Automatic Feed Table and presetting bench. Subsequently, in 2022, MONTEC introduced the newer S-80 machine, which also includes an Automatic Feed Table. This machine is specifically designed for tubes with elliptical holes created by a tube laser cutting line. Through such a process, tube blanks are automatically oriented depending on the position of holes, so that cycle times are faster, the process is much quieter, there’s a negligible production of metal chips, minimal usage of lubricant, and reduced cost of consumables.
MONTEC found the equipment to be highly flexible, especially when the distance between the collars is very short and/or the distance of the last collars to the pipe ends is limited. By using T-DRILL machines, MONTEC could get rid of old-fashioned (quite expensive, room-consuming, sometimes unsafe) production methods and increase process efficiency while reducing human labor and almost zeroing the number of scrap parts. Thanks to INDUSTRY 4.0 features being built/integrated into the machine control, efficient management of production batches has been achieved.
MONTEC further developed its range of products, using T-DRILL machines. MONTEC further improved their capabilities of TIG welding of branches and fittings, and they increased the already excellent finish of manifolds because the degree of quality and absence of marks coming from T-DRILL machines are already outstanding. Now MONTEC has a couple of highly efficient production lines from T-DRILL to manufacture both small and large manifolds while optimizing costs and increasing its capacity in terms of volume and flexibility.
